Johns Hopkins  Awards Student Book Collectors

Six prizes have been awarded in the 2008 Betty and Edgar Sweren Student Book Collecting Contest.  Begun in 1993 by the Friends and endowed this year by long-time Friends Betty and Edgar Sweren, the contest recognizes the love of books and the delight in shaping a thoughtful and focused book collection.  More…

Finding or Submitting Dissertations


Digital Dissertations (Dissertation Abstracts)

Provides information about doctoral dissertations and master's theses from over 1,000 graduate schools and universities. Approximately 47,000 new dissertations and 12,000 new theses are added to the database each year. Citations for dissertations published since 1980 also include 350-word abstracts written by the author. Citations for master's theses since 1988 include 150-word abstracts. The full text of more than one million of these titles is available for purchase from Proquest in paper and microform formats.

The JHU Libraries' subscription to Digital Dissertations allows online, full-text access to the complete file of dissertations in digital format starting with titles published in 1997.

For commercially available dissertations, verify bibliographic information through the WorldCat database and request items, if not owned by JHU, through Inter-Library Services.
