Collection Management Council (CMC)

The Sheridan Libraries Collection Management Council was developed to:

1. Create a more collaborative, strategic vision of collection development
2. Create a practicable definition of an on-site, browsable collection
3. Assess and analyze the collection in order to understand its strengths and weaknesses and to shape its future direction
4. Manage the changing environment of print and electronic formats more efficiently
5. Address the physical condition of the collection - what to preserve and what not to preserve
6. Facilitate access to the collections, particularly as related to patron needs
