Opening Reception Wednesday, March 26 INTRODUCTION Beautiful first editions of rare architectural treatises, hand-colored map and original prints from the 15th through the 19th centuries are displayed in this exhibition celebrating Italian Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio’s birth in 1508. More than 75 magnificent works from the Sheridan Libraries’ special collections trace Palladio’s lasting legacy on building design, particularly in Baltimore, and brilliantly illustrate his dictum: “Build in such a manner and with such proportions, so that all the parts together may convey a sweet harmony to the eye of the beholders.”
