Exhibition Catalog

INTRODUCTION

An exhibition of photographs from the collection of Kristin Leopold featuring images of eary-to-mid-20th century Baltimore, taken by her grandfather, free-lance photographer Harry B. Leopold, who began his career with the Baltimore Sunpapers. From the city's working inner harbor to the baseball stadium and fairground, Leopold captured the spirit of "Charm City" at work and at play from the 1920s into the 1940s.

Leopold also photographed The Johns Hopkins University's Homewood campus during this period, and selections from the university archives portray the early days of the library in Gilman Hall and the original Homewood House Museum, which opened in the 1930s.
