 Library Digital Programs

The Library Digital Programs (LDP), within the Sheridan Libraries of the Johns Hopkins University, focuses on digital collections, services, and infrastructure to support the research, learning, scholarly communication and preservation needs of the University. The LDP comprises: the research and development unit, the Digital Research and Curation Center (DRCC); digital library services; and digital library collections. The LDP collaborates closely with faculty, library staff, academic departments within the University, and IT@Johns Hopkins.

Center for Educational Resources

The Center for Educational Resources (CER) partners with Krieger School of Arts and Sciences faculty to extend their instructional impact through the integration of digital technologies and innovative teaching strategies. The CER's location in the Garrett Room of the Eisenhower Library reflects the evolving role of university libraries as they advance from print-based repositories to electronic collaboratories.

The CER works closely with other academic and administrative units on campus–the Eisenhower Library's Research Services and Collections, Digital Knowledge Center, and the Library Systems Office, and with Hopkins Information Technology Services–to make maximum use of library resources and instructional technology support.

CER services include:

  • pedagogical and technology consulting
  • instruction and workshops
  • project management
  • course resource development
  • grant writing collaboration for educational components of grant initiatives
  • faculty multimedia lab facilities

The Digital Research and Curation Center

The Digitial Research and Curation Center (DRCC) is the research and development unit within the Sheridan Libraries system. The DRCC was established in 1997 to partner with faculty and other researchers to promote research and facilitate the development of the digital library at Johns Hopkins.

As an auxiliary enterprise of the Sheridan Libraries, the DRCC carries out multiple technology projects in collaboration with Hopkins faculty, as well as national and international academic researchers. Please visit the DRCC Web site to learn more about specific projects.
